About e-journal


The Mediterranean e-journal of Communication & Media is an international, open-access and peer-reviewed journal that provides a platform for research and debate on the continuously changing global media and communication environment. The e-journal is published by the Research Institute of Applied Communication and City Unity College.

Its scope includes communication and media studies, anthropology, sociology, media psychology, telecommunications, public policy, political communication, cultural studies, transnational security and international relations.

Please remember that the articles are to be published in a fully refereed academic journal. This means that the style and structure of your text should be relatively formal. Manuscripts are accepted for consideration continuously throughout the year.

The Institute

The main aim of the Research Institute of Applied Communication is to systematically monitor and research in the field of the communication, undertaking basic and applied research in the various fields of the printed and electronic press, the mass media, and the broader field of communication. Moreover, the Institute’s aim is to study, research, organize continuing education seminars and programs, lectures, conferences and symposia in the field of applied communication.

City Unity College

City Unity College (former City University of Seattle in Athens) is one of the most contemporary Colleges in Athens. It was established in 1999 as an official branch (teaching location) of City University of Seattle (USA), an American Accredited University with more than 25 teaching locations worldwide.

According to Greek mythology, the Owl was often associated with the goddess Athena, a bird goddess who became associated with wisdom, the arts, and skills, and as a result, owls also became associated with wisdom…on our Logo it is represented in an ancient Cyprus coin.


The ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) is an eight-digit number which identifies periodical publications as such, including electronic serials.
